Brian's an admirer of Howard Zinn's work. He even received a letter back from him after pursuing a possible, vague collaboration.
The world has gained much from his life, and lost a lot in his passing.

I was a student of Howard Zinn's at Boston University at the time of the Student Movement. He helped us organize the "Commune-iversity" an institution we hoped would invite local Bostonians the opportunity of "re-education". It was an incredible time-- spray painting red fists on T-shirts and protesting THE war.
