Here's another late painting by Fred Mogubgub.
Titled "Perines" and dated 2/7/87, this is the latest painting I've so far seen. Don't know what the title means. Maybe it's the name of the sitter.
The style follows from the early 80s portraiture, the color is a little more sophisticated.
The costuming is particularly great.

At that stage of his life, Freddie was doing a series of paintings he called, "Night Spirits." They were images that came to him in the late nights he spent at the easel or in dreams. There was always a strong mystical vein in his work (and his life). This is particularly lovely work of his in that genre.
